This regulation is called : regulation number ( ) for the year 2004 A.D Vehicles plates regulation Issued according to paragraph ( c ) . article ( 5 ) Of the temporal traffic law No . 47 for the year 2001 A. D.

 Article (1) :

This regulation is called : vehicles plates regulation no ( ) foe the year 2004 it's applied since it has propagated in the formal newspaper .

 Article (2) :

Vehicles plates are divided into these categories :

	The plates of royal castles cars, their backgrounds are white , their characters are black , with the term ( royal castles ) which is written in English and Arabic .
	The plates of the ministers and the prime ministers cars , their backgrounds are white , the characters are red . and the word ( government ) is written on them in Arabic and English .
	* The cars plates of the president of par lament & the president of upper horse , the background is white and the characters are red , and the term : ( parliament ) or ( upper house ) is written in Arabic according to what the state requires with the number ( 1 ) and the letters ( PAR ) in English .
	*  The car plate of the president of the judicial council , the background is white , the characters are red . The term ( judicial council ) is written in addition to the number ( 1 ) and the letters ( J.C ) in English .
	* The car plates of the upper house member and the par lament member , the background is white , characters are red , the term ( upper house ) or ( par lament ) is written in Arabic with the plate serial number which is put by the specialized council beginning from ( 2 ) and the letters ( PAR ) in English , which is issued to one licensed car .
	* The ear plate of the member of the judicial council , the background is white , characters are red , the term ( judicial council ) is written in Arabic with the serial number that is specialized for the plate by the council beginning from ( 2 ) with the letters ( J . C ) in English , it is issued to one licensed car .
	Plates of cars that refer of ministries , formal institutions , government departments and municipalities , the background is red characters are white with the word ( Jordan ) written in Arabic and English .
	Cars plates of diplomatic and consulate corps , their background is whit and yellow , the characters are black with the letters (هـ , د ) for diplomatic corps and the letters ( هـ , ق ) for consulate corps , in addition to the word ( Jordan ) in Arabic and English .
	Cars plates of international corps , charitable organizations that are free from duties according to international agreements or local legislations , and the plates of the cars that are registered in the names of public universities of Jordan and the royal scientific society , the background is blue , characters are white with the word ( Jordan ) written in Arabic and English .
	Ceremonies cars plates, their background is white , the characters are red the word ( ceremonies ) and the plate number are written in Arabic .
	Cars plates that refer to special aqaba economical zone authority , the Background is white , the characters are red , in addition to the term ( Aqaba authority ) written in Arabic , the word ( AQABA ) in English and the authority sign .
	Private cars plates , their background is white , the characters are black and the word ( Jordan ) is written in Arabic and English .
	Public cars plates , their background is green , the characters are white and the word ( Jordan ) is written in Arabic and English .
	Plates of constructional and agricultural vehicles their background is black , the characters are white , in addition to the word ( constructive ) for constructional vehicles , and the word ( Agricultural ) for agricultural vehicles in Arabic and English for both plates .
	Plates of temporal entrance vehicles , their background is yellow , the characters are black and the word ( Jordan ) is written on them in Arabic and English .
	Motorcycles plates , the background is white , characters are black , with the word ( Jordan ) written in Arabic and English .
	Plates of renting cars , the background is green , characters are yellow with the word ( Jordan ) written in Arabic and English .
	Plates of custom entrance cars that enters the boarders centers without plates from their country , and foreign cars that extend their residence for more than three months their background is black , characters are white with term contains the name of the boarders center it entered from , in addition to the year its issued in their registers are controlled according to the instructions related to .
	Plates of transit vehicles and vehicles that enter boarders centers without plates and that are driven to be taken out through other boarders Centers of the kingdom or to be taken to the free zones or to the export stores , these plates are issued to the vehicles that are manufactured or collected locally when sending them to any of the boarders centers or free zones or stores , the plates background is blue the characters are yellow , with the word ( transit ) and the name of the boarders center from which it has entered in addition to the year of issuing , its issuing procedures and its registers are controlled according to the related instructions .
	Plates of vehicles that are stored in the stores of the vehicles commission agents or the licensed merchants , their background is yellow and the characters are black with the word ( temporal ) written in Arabic and the letters ( TEMP ) in English their issuing procedures , their registers and their validity are controlled in accordance with the instructions that are issued by the minister of interior for this purpose .
	Plates of vehicles that have manufactured locally by the licensed factories , their backgrounds are yellow , the characters are black and the word ( test ) is written in on them in addition to the word ( test ) in Arabic .
	Plates of trailers and half trailers , their backgrounds are yellow , the characters are red , with the word writes in Arabic and the litters ( TR ) in English .
	Plates of temporal entrance vehicles that were issued according to the temporal entrance system of vehicles for special aqaba economical zone , the background is yellow the characters are black with the term in Arabic and the letters ( ASEZ ) in English in addition to stickers of the greet &blue unmemorable authority sign .

 Article (3) :

Gareater Amman Municipality , municipalities and corps that represent it can issue the coming displayed plate with the name of the issuing authority provided that every authority keeps a special registry of the plates it issues if the background is white and the characters are black :

	Plates of motorcycles that runs with the riders impetus .
	Plate of cabs that are pulled by animals and handcarts .

 Article (4) :

Traffic department organizes or reorganizes the vehicles plates categories in a special sequence for each one with keeping the validity of all contracts related to the vehicles , the owing rights and the maintained numbers in accordance with the new series to the limit they were in according to the vehicles numbers .

 Article (5) :

First : It is not allowed for any authority to manufacture these vehicles plates except the traffic department , and they are manufactured according to the following :

	Irremovable sticker plate which is damaged when you try to remove it , it carries the number of the vehicle plate in order to hinder any forgery or illegal plates usage , according to Article ( 6 ) : one plate is issued for each vehicle and it is put between the middle and the bottom of the back window .
	Metallic numbers plates that are manufactured with the technique of the raised pressure , they are made of aluminum with a reflector background there must be some special marks to hinder forgery except plates mentioned in article ( 3 ) of this system .

To fit different types of vehicles , plates fall under these three shapes :

	First shape : a palate of 520 ,, tall and 120 ,, breadth .
	Seconed shape :a palate of 305 ,, tall and 155 mm breadth .
	Third shape : a plate of 240 mm tall and 135 mm breadth .

 Article (6) :

Vehicles numbers plates are issued according to :

	Small and middle riding cars buses and one piece lorries are on the average of two metallic plates and one sticker numbers plate .
	Structural and agricultural vehicles / two metallic numbers plates only .
	Trailing head which is not made for shipping :three metallic numbers to put the third one in the middle of the trailer when trailing it in addition to one sticker plate .
	Trailer and half trailer : one ( trailer ) metallic plate only .
	Two numbers plates are fixed on the back lf the trailer and half trailer as : the first : carries the number of the trailing head or the engine the second : carries the number of the trailer or half trailer .

 Article (7) :

The space that the numbers fill in the plate is :

	72 נ32 mm for Arabic numbers in the two types of plates except the royal castles cars .
	40 נ25 mm for English numbers in the plates of the first type except the cars of ceremonies , traverse ( transit ) and customs entrance cars .
	50 נ30 mm for English numbers in the plates of the second type except the care of royal castles ,ceremonies , traverse ( transit ) and customs entrance .
	55 נ35 mm for Arabic numbers that are dedicated for the plates of royal castles cars , diplomatic and consulate corps cars , customs entrance and traverse ( transit ) cars in addition to the second type motorcycles .
	42 נ20 mm for the Arabic numbers that are dedicated for the plates of royal castles cars diplomatic and consulate corps cars , customs entrance and traverse ( transit ) cars of the first type .
	72 נ32 mm for English number dedicated for diplomatic corps cars of the first type .
	45 נ24 mm for both Arabic and English numbers that are dedicated for the vehicles of special aqaba economical zone authority .
	45 נ24 mm for both Arabic and English numbers that are dedicated for temporal entranced vehicles of special aqaba economical zone .

 Article (8) :

The space that is taken up by terms , words and letters is as follows :

	90 נ35 mm for the word Jordan in Arabic and English .
	50 × 35 mm for the letters ( هـ , د ) or ( هـ , ق ) in Arabic and ( C . D ) or ( C . C ) in English .
	180 נ35 mm for the term ( royal castles ) in Arabic and English .
	90 × 35 mm for the term ( house of lords ) = (مجلس الأعيان ) or ( parliament ) = ( مجلس النواب ) according to the case in Arabic and ( PAR ) in English .
	90 × 35 mm for the word ( حكومة ) in Arabic and ( GOV ) in English .
	90 × 35 mm for the term ( المجلس القضائي ) in Arabic and 50 × 35 mm for each one of the letters ( J . C ) in the judicial council numbers plate .
	90 × 35 mm for the word (زراعي ) or (إنشائي ) in Arabic and ( AGR ) or ( constr ) in English .
	90 נ35 mm for the word ( customs ) or ( transit ) or the name of the customs from which the plate is issued .
	125 נ40 mm for the word ceremonies .
	90 × 35 mm for the word ( مقطورة ) in Arabic and 50 × 30 mm for ( TRL ) in English .
	120 × 32 mm for the term ( سلطة العقبة ) in Arabic and ( 90 × 25 ) mm for word ( AQABA ) in English د and 35 × 35 mm for the sign of ( special economical aqaba zone ) .
	120 × 32 mm for the term ( العقبة الخاصة ) in Arabic and 90 × 25 mm for the word ( ASEZ ) in English د and 35 × 35 mm for the sign of aqaba special economical zone authority .
	90 × 35 mm for the word ( مؤقت ) in Arabic an (TEMP ) in English .
	90 × 35 mm for the word ( تجربة ) in Arabic and ( TEMP ) in English .

 Article (9) :

Three dinars are received for each on of the tow metallic numbers plates that are issued for the first time or for the damaged plate and six dinars for each lost plate , two dinars are received for the numbers plate ( stickers ) that is mentioned in article ( 6 ) of this system and four dinars instead of damaged .

These cars plates are free from the pries stipulated in paragraph ( a ) of this article , and the ministry of finance undertakes the costs of manufacturing : The cars plates of royal castles , the prime minister , the presidents of parliament and house of lords , the president of the judicial council , ministers , members of parliament , house of lords and judicial council , in addition to the plates of government cars , municipality ceremonies and traverse and traverse ( transit ) .

 Article (10) :

The minister of interior has the right of issuing the instructions related to applying the rules of this regulation including the technical specifications of the plate the reflector tape , the special marks that must be in the plate to hinder forgery in addition to the specifications of the sticker plate and its contents .

 Article (11) :

The regulation of vehicles plates ( no . 61 ) for the year ( 2003 ) is canceled with its amendments .
