The award aims at bringing  about a qualitative leap and development in the performance of ministries and government institutions in the service of Jordanian citizens and investors. The Royal Decree was issued to establish the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Governmental Performance and Transparency on 4/9/2002, with the aim of strengthening the role of the public sector in serving society The Jordanian community in all its sectors and the investment community, by spreading awareness of the concepts of total quality management and outstanding performance, highlighting the distinguished efforts of public sector institutions and presenting their achievements in developing their systems and services, so that it is the highest award for excellence in the public sector at the national level.

Award goals

Providing a guiding reference and standard foundations to measure the progress and development of the performance of government departments and agencies in the Kingdom, and contribute to the development of the government sector and raise its level of performance.

Help spread the concepts of excellence, creativity, quality and transparency in all departments and public sector institutions. The award also aims to support development programs and strategic planning in government departments and agencies.

Award categories

  1. The best ministry.
  2. The best public institution / department / independent authority.
  3. Best achievement.
  4. The best ministry is participating for the first time.
  5. The best public institution to participate for the first time.
  6. Distinguished government employee category.
  7. First Category: Distinguished Leading or Supervising Employee Award
  8. The second category: the award for the distinguished administrative or technical employee.
  9. Third Category: Outstanding Supportive Employee Award.
  10. Any other category determined by the Board of Trustees, such as the overall outstanding performance category .

  4. Standard of knowledge.
  5. Financial standard.

1. 2003

The department won the second place (Silver Award) in all criteria.

2. 2005

The department won the first place (the gold award) in all criteria
