The award aims at bringing about a qualitative leap and development in the performance of ministries and government institutions in the service of Jordanian citizens and investors. The Royal Decree was issued to establish the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Governmental Performance and Transparency on 4/9/2002, with the aim of strengthening the role of the public sector in serving society The Jordanian community in all its sectors and the investment community, by spreading awareness of the concepts of total quality management and outstanding performance, highlighting the distinguished efforts of public sector institutions and presenting their achievements in developing their systems and services, so that it is the highest award for excellence in the public sector at the national level.
Providing a guiding reference and standard foundations to measure the progress and development of the performance of government departments and agencies in the Kingdom, and contribute to the development of the government sector and raise its level of performance.
Help spread the concepts of excellence, creativity, quality and transparency in all departments and public sector institutions. The award also aims to support development programs and strategic planning in government departments and agencies.
