Provide doctors at all the licensing sections to examine the driving license applicants and ensure their fitness. The department provides offices, phones and the necessary devices.
Provide representatives at the licensing sections to discharge the drivers and the vehicles from the traffic violations. The licensing department provides offices, communication devices and the communication lines for the computers.
Exchange information about drivers and the vehicles and pass the insurance contracts by the certified insurance companies at the kingdom to cover the civil liability from damage against others caused by using those vehicles as stipulated in traffic law no (49) 2008.
Participate in holding courses and workshops regarding the environment protection. And participate in field campaigns to examine the exhaust emissions from vehicles.
Provide trained and qualified staffs to activate and operate all the necessary computer systems to license the vehicles and drivers and to improve them if needed, in addition to provide all the necessary hardware and software. The department also provides the required infrastructure and the administrative services.
Consider the traffic violations cases incurred by the drivers and the vehicles issued by the municipality court and other municipalities courts. It is also considering the cases which require other legal actions regarding vehicles and drivers (seizure and suspended license etc.…). The license department implements the court decisions in this regard.
Continuous coordination between the department and the training driving centers in terms of providing the certificates of competency for the driving licenses applicants after their qualifying and training classes prescribed by the instructions of driving training centers issued by the traffic law no (49) 2008. The constant coordination with these centers in order to improve the training process by merging these centers and enhance its services to meet the specifications of the 1st class training centers.
Consists of clearing the sold cars for the first time (new cars) and provide the department with the customs data to document them in the vehicles file to ensure the owners rights. There are also permanent joint committees with customs department regarding the duty-free cars for disabled persons.
